Council Member

I was born in Canada and immigrated to Israel in 1975. After years of grassroots activism, I was among the founders of the Shahar movement led by Yossi Beilin in 2001. After Shahar merged with Meretz, I was elected to the party's general assembly and executive and held these positions for about 20 years. I left Meretz in August 2020 because I felt that Zionism was taking a central place in the party’s positions while I was looking for a Jewish-Arab political home.

In the past, I participated in conferences of "Operation 1325," a Swedish organization promoting women in peace processes, and I was a member of the International Women's Commission for the Advancement of Israeli-Palestinian Peace.

I am the managing editor of the Palestine-Israel Journal and communications director of the Political Working Group, an organization working for international intervention to resolve the conflict on the basis of two states. My blog:
