To join the event on Zoom click here The conversation will seek to address the complex tension between Louis’ identity as an Arab-Palestinian, a citizen of the State of Israel, and his belief in full Jewish-Arab partnership, in full equality between all citizens of the state, and in the recognition of the right of both peoples to self-determination—a Jewish state alongside a Palestinian state.
From a personal, civic, and moral perspective, Louis will seek to address the question of whether and how it is possible to attempt to reconcile the existence of a Jewish state with equal and full citizenship for its Arab citizens; what is the difference between coexistence and true partnership; and what is required to build a civic space here in which Jews and Arabs not only live side by side, but are partners in shaping a common future.
