During the tour organized by the “All Its Citizens” Party in the unrecognized villages in the Negev, Dr. Warda Sada, the party’s co-chair, said:
“The pain is very hard.
How can one understand the existence of such a reality in a state that is considered enlightened, that claims to strengthen education and support populations, but in practice none of this exists? What exists here is not a planning failure. This is an ongoing, continuous policy.
Even the most basic things are missing here: a sewage system! Eighty years ago there was a sewage system and there was electricity in my village.
This is the moment to put our hands on our hearts and say together: we must make a change in this country, for the sake of every citizen of the state. Because this is a disgrace to the country and a disgrace to us that we agree that people are still living in this situation and struggling for every small, basic thing in order to obtain it.
So let us say from here that we commit to act and to help, in every place, in every corner, and within every institution in this country, to bring about change in the Negev.”
