Today, three major countries announced their recognition of a Palestinian state: Britain, Canada, and Australia.

The All Citizens Party welcomes this international recognition of a Palestinian state, which justifies the right of the Palestinian people to receive freedom and independence towards a true and just political settlement, just as Israel received its freedom and independence 77 years ago.

Britain and 10 other Western countries join more than 150 countries that have already recognized a Palestinian state.

An end to the war and a political process are the courageous and correct direction that the opposition parties and the Change Bloc should adopt, if they truly want change and peace.

But unfortunately, the "democrats", as an example, are apparently not yet ready to embark on a new path. Yair Golan ignores the reality and echoes the existing tendency on the right to continue the status quo, in the expectation of receiving another mandate or two. We are surprised by Yair Golan's statements against international recognition of a Palestinian state, which places him in line with the right-wing and center parties.

The All Citizens Party wishes the people of Israel a happy and blessed New Year, a year of peace and an end to the war and the return of all the abductees to their families.
