"Fascism Will Not Pass — If We Confront It"

Right-wing activists once again attacked MK Ayman Odeh last night during a large Arab-Jewish home gathering held in Pardes Hanna.

The political and social event in Pardes Hanna was marked by a large Arab-Jewish attendance, with MK Ayman Odeh as the guest of honor.Dozens of right-wing supporters entered the town before the meeting and rushed toward the venue in a pre-organized attempt to disrupt it; they blocked Odeh’s path, attacked his car, and tried to prevent him from arriving, but MK Odeh did not back down and managed to reach the location and hold the event as planned.

After the incident, MK Ayman Odeh emphasized that such attacks would not deter him nor the democratic forces standing up to what he described as “fascism fueled by government support.”He stressed that intimidation attempts would not succeed, and that confronting these extremist movements requires a courageous Arab-Jewish political partnership, capable of curbing fascist incitement and eliminating those who feed it.

MK Odeh wrote the following on his page:

“At the event held in Pardes Hanna, hosted by Yuval and Idit Roth, there was a large Arab-Jewish turnout. The event was part of the struggle against racism and occupation, based on the principles of peace and equality. The meeting was organized by the Hadash Front and activist Noa Levi.”

He added:

“The police called me in an attempt to convince me not to come, claiming that many right-wing activists had arrived with the intention of ‘blowing up’ the meeting.I told the police that I was determined to attend, no matter the price.”
“When I arrived, the fascists attacked the car — they hit it with their hands and sticks — but we managed to enter.”
“The attendance was large and inspiring. I spoke about the ‘war of extermination’ in Gaza, about racism, and about incitement against Palestinian citizens. The meeting ended on a positive note and with strong public engagement.”

He concluded:

“I have now left the place, and my conviction is clear: if we yield to the fascists, they will prevent us from holding any future gathering —they may even bring fascist gangs on election day to stop us from voting. The price we pay for surrendering to fascism is far greater than the price we pay for confronting it.Therefore, we must stand up to it now and always.”

In conclusion, these are brave and significant words for all those who value shared life and equality in this country.
