After “unknown individuals” set fire to several vehicles, caused damage to property, and sprayed racist slogans against Arabs and offensive expressions against the Prophet Muhammad in the village of Ein Rafa near Jerusalem, a delegation from the “All Its Citizens” party visited the village and the home of the Roman family. The delegation expressed deep shock at the serious crime committed by settlers, and conveyed full solidarity and support for the local residents. Members of the delegation called on the police to identify those responsible and bring them to justice immediately.
A gang of “Hilltop Youth” settlers entered the quiet village at night, set vehicles on fire, and sprayed slogans such as “price tag,” “revenge,” and “Muhammad is a pig.”
Ein Rafa is a small village, one of the remnants of the village of Ein Zuba that was expelled and destroyed during the Nakba in 1948.
In conversations with residents, they emphasized that their small village, Ein Rafa, with a population not exceeding 1,200 people, is a calm and peaceful community, characterized by good neighborly relations with both its Arab and Jewish surroundings, and that the attackers came from among settlers from the occupied West Bank. According to them, the police have no new developments in the investigation.
It was further noted that settler attacks in the West Bank against Palestinian civilians and their property—homes, vehicles, and agricultural land—have increased significantly in recent months, due to what was described as the failure of Ben Gvir’s police to restrain them or even investigate them. It was claimed that no settler has been arrested, despite video documentation, photographs, and witnesses, and that they enjoy the support and encouragement of the Minister of National Security Ben Gvir and his associates within the police leadership.
The Roman family hosted the party delegation and thanked them for their solidarity.
