An unplanned response by ordinary citizens, unelected, who do not see themselves as leaders, became a symbol of the struggle and led the city to a general strike as a sign of protest.
Neighboring Deir Hanna and Arabah joined the fight.
Water has reached the soul and there is no longer any room for tolerance towards crime and harm to human life, business, and personal security.
It is time to support those who have taken up the gauntlet to protect their lives and the lives of their families and to protect their community.
Vulnerable citizens cannot fulfill the role of police. The government should handle crime, not with silk gloves.
What citizens can do is raise their voices and stand shoulder to shoulder against crime.
Living safely interests most of Arab society much more than a legal revolution.
The spillover of crime to neighboring cities, like an epidemic, is only a matter of time, unless there is a traffic light in government policy that distinguishes between an Arab settlement and a kosher one.
Give the protest a warm shoulder before we all lose the city and the country.
