Alon Liel, Member of the Party Council: This agreement could not have been reached without Turkey and Qatar

In an interview with i24News, Alon Liel, a member of the party council, was asked about the peace agreement signed between Israel and Hamas, which involved several mediating countries led by the United States. Here are some key points from the interview:

⦁ The agreement is not merely an American-Israeli one; it is an American-Israeli-Qatari-Egyptian-Turkish agreement.

It would not have been possible to reach this agreement without Qatar and Turkey.

⦁ It is true that the war achieved many military and technological accomplishments that restored part of Israel’s prestige on the military level, but the past two years have been a diplomatic catastrophe. The diplomatic tsunami, following the aid flotilla, turned into a political volcano in Europe.

⦁ There is now a task force that includes an American contingent. However, if this force remains solely American, Hamas will not cooperate with it on the ground. Therefore, it must include additional components — among them Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt — to ensure cooperation in the field.
