Minister Smotrich's decision to approve the establishment of 19 new settlements in the occupied territories only adds fuel to the fire of the conflict that continues to rage without a solution and a political horizon.
Among the settlements that will be rebuilt are Ganim Vekid, which was evacuated in the northern West Bank twenty years ago. The rest of the settlements - some are old and some are completely new.
Instead, the Minister of Finance will focus and invest in promoting the economy and developing the economy and industry, solving the crime problem in Arab society, or establishing a single Arab settlement.
And instead of striving for a political settlement and a resolution to the bloody conflict, they continue to manage it and determine facts on the ground, more and more settlers, more settlements, and block the possibility of establishing a Palestinian entity in the West Bank.
The goal is clear: to prevent the establishment of an independent Palestinian state or any other formula that would express any independent definition of such an existence, whether in a two-state solution or a single state in any formula of confederation that would allow for a natural life for approximately 15 million Arab and Jewish people.
19 more settlements in the West Bank and house demolitions in the Negev and Galilee, and not thinking about establishing a single Arab settlement or expanding jurisdictional areas to solve the housing shortage in Arab society, the cost of living, and the development of settlements within the State of Israel.
This is the policy of the Minister of Finance, who is working for the benefit of his constituents against the clock until the elections.
There are occupied territories where there is a daily war between settlers and local residents under the auspices of the government. An ongoing conflict without a solution.
The order of priorities and policies are determined by the government and the Knesset that the public elects. The elections are coming. Sitting at home is a bad choice and a cry for generations.
Wake up, vote. Set a policy. Let's make order. A little justice that will be expressed in a fair distribution of state resources within states, the eradication of crime and national economic development, and the promotion of political order.
