Comrade Alon Liel: “What Yair Golan did is the kiss of death for the Jewish left in Israel”

In an interview on the Knesset Channel, Dr. Alon Liel, member of the council of the All Its Citizens party and former Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said regarding Yair Golan’s statement opposing global recognition of a Palestinian state: “What Yair Golan did is the kiss of death for the Jewish left in Israel.”

Alon Liel, of course, also expressed the position of the All Its Citizens party, which immediately issued a statement condemning Yair Golan’s remarks and welcoming the broad recognition of the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state.

It seems that Yair Golan has positions and plans that he is still concealing from his colleagues and his voters, just as Benjamin Netanyahu did.

It is now clear that almost all the countries of the world are calling for a peaceful solution in the Middle East based on two states — Israel and Palestine — living side by side in good neighborliness, mutual security, and economic prosperity. This is the only way to break out of the cursed cycle of bloodshed that has continued since the establishment of the state.

Our country is sinking before our eyes, and we must save it. Ending the war and returning the hostages are the lifeline in this dangerous stage. A peace agreement and reconciliation with the Palestinian people must be our north star and compass.
