Mohammad Yahya, Secretary of the “All Its Citizens” Party, congratulates former MK Jamal Zahalka on his election as Chairman of the Follow-Up Committee

Attorney Mohammad Ghaleb Yahya, the Secretary-General of the All Its Citizens Party, issued a statement congratulating former Knesset member Jamal Zahalka on his victory in the elections for the chairmanship of the Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel. In the statement, he calls on Zahalka to activate this important framework that unites our Arab community with full transparency, and to lead a real transformation and a qualitative leap through a broad general conference for the cadres of our society from all fields and localities.

The All Its Citizens Party congratulates the Follow-Up Committee on the election of its new chair, and congratulates the elected chairman, former MK Dr. Jamal Zahalka, on being chosen for this position.In light of the rapidly unfolding events and the difficult challenges, this is an opportunity for the Follow-Up Committee, under its newly elected chairman Dr. Jamal Zahalka, to renew trust and commitment with the public, to activate this important unifying framework of our Arab community with transparency and accountability, and to carry out a real transformation and a qualitative leap through a broad general conference for the cadres of our Arab society from all fields and towns.Such a conference should expand the committee’s components on the basis of membership and democratic election — in a way that helps our society advance and harnesses the thousands of capabilities it possesses.

Maintaining the current structure does not reflect reality. Changes and updates are necessary, even if gradually.This is truly an opportunity, as we enter an election year, to unite efforts to raise voter turnout and increase the representation of our community in the parliament.
