In an interview on Radio Makan in Arabic, which is the equivalent station to Network B in Hebrew media, a conversation took place between journalist Nader Abu Tamer and Muhammad Yahya, Secretary General of the All Citizens Party. The conversation revolved around the question of what is the interest of Arab society and where the All Citizens Party stands on the issue of the upcoming elections.
Below are the main points of our friend Muhammad Yahya's words:
* We support and encourage the renewal of the Joint List and then its expansion to include several parties based on the Arab-Jewish partnership.
* Jewish society needs Arab society, and Arab society needs Jewish society: in the hospital, in the factory, on work sites, and in all areas of life.
* The establishment of an alternative government to the Netanyahu government cannot be realized without the support of Arab Knesset members, whether from within the government or from outside.
* We are not looking for one seat or another within the coalition – we are all in the same boat – but we strive to change the political approach in Israeli society, and it is imperative to learn from the mistakes of the past.
* The All Citizens Party is negotiating with a number of parties, some represented in the Knesset and some not, old and new. The goal is to change the Knesset and form a new government, and that is the main thing.
* There is a very important group in Jewish society that supports this approach, so we should not stand aside and say that Arab society alone can help us.
* Or work to change the attitude and conduct within Israeli society – on a partnership basis. The alternative is that we follow the path of confrontation as was the case in the past.
